Cohort 21 is a professional learning community and program that supports educators in refining their teaching practices, integrating innovation, and fostering collaboration across schools. Cohort 21 is designed to empower teachers with the tools and strategies they need to navigate the evolving landscape of education. The program encourages participants to share their challenges and successes, collaborate with other educators, and apply new learning approaches in their classrooms.
The community focuses on teacher-driven action research, personalized professional development, and the use of digital tools to enhance learning. Teachers from various schools come together for a series of face-to-face and online sessions throughout the year to work on individual and group projects, all aimed at improving student outcomes and overall teaching effectiveness.
This year we added a new stream called the Leadership Lab. The stream was introduced to Cohort 21 to cultivate a deeper, more intentional focus on developing leadership capacity among educators. Its purpose is to equip participants not only with innovative teaching practices but also with the skills, mindset, and confidence to lead meaningful change within their schools. By fostering leadership competencies alongside pedagogical growth, the stream aims to empower teachers to take on leadership roles, influence school culture, and spearhead initiatives that drive educational innovation. The Leadership Lab is about building leaders who are adaptive, reflective, and prepared to navigate the complexities of modern education.
