I am currently a Montessori teacher, teaching grades 1-3.  I have been teaching in this system for 24 years.  There are two teachers in every classroom with approximately 35 students.  Concrete materials are used daily in every subject area.  The beauty of this system is that since it is a mixed age group, a lot of peer teaching takes place and role modelling is highly valued.
