As a second language teacher, I love the James Britton quote, “Reading and writing will float on a sea of talk.” I believe that oral communication skills are key to helping students build their confidence in a second-language class and that students learn best in authentic situations. I also believe that my relationships with my students are one of the most important elements in helping them take risks in my classroom with their learning.
