Teaching Philosophy & Bio

I am a believer in facilitating learning that promotes meaningful understanding. From a point of understanding, I am interested in purposeful algorithms rather than mindless regurgitation. I hope to break-down ‘mental blocks’ especially in the study of mathematics. I am also committed to providing students with opportunities to explore and be exposed to subject areas they are not traditionally directed into given cultural/gender norms.

More recently, in my new role as a tech integrator, I am beginning a journey into what it means and/or looks like when we leverage technology with pedagogy to create even more meaningful learning opportunities for our students (and teachers too!).
