I enjoy sports. Sport encourages inclusivity, drawing as many participants as possible. Sport develops basic skills that can transfer to higher levels or different activities. Finally, sport challenges students to use their skills in difficult and realistic situations. Education, in many ways, is the same. Education should be inclusive. All students can learn, therefore classes should be inviting and make students want to take part. Education teaches the skills students need to succeed beyond the classroom environment. Like sport, these simple skills are designed to be transferred to more complex and “real life” situations. Education challenges students, encouraging them to do things they have never done before and to be better than they had previously thought possible. It encourages them to become life-long learners.
