UDL Teaching and Learning
What we did today!
Today, we worked with our group and chatted about our strengths as people and teachers. It’s very inspiring being here with like minded people wanting to make change!
Spark
Chosen professional-energy title: “UDL teaching and Learning”
Focus: Using AI more efficiently in the classroom to support UDL: reaching all students through lessons and tools, assessing effectively, and supporting fluency readings, math prompting, and feedback.
Open question: I am torn between this and planning an “Open Minds” program at my school—borrowing language and considering land-based learning, learning beyond, and learning beyond beyond. This could mean authentic learning in one unit per year, where students go into the field for the whole unit and learn from experience.
Add your thoughts: What is drawing you toward one direction or the other?
Facilitation
- Share knowledge at staff meetings.
- Happy to lead PD.
Add your thoughts: Who do you hope to learn with? What would you like to explore further?
Impact
Desired impact: Give responsive feedback quickly, see all students in a timely way, and reach all students with leveled, appropriate tools—one lesson for lower- and higher-level learners, or worksheets and readings that can be extended or scaled back.
Add your thoughts: What might success look like?
What do you hope students will experience differently?
