- … How might we build student confidence and resilience, using parents as partners and to try to decrease escalated reactions to conflict?
- My thinking shifted during my 2nd face to face reminding me to expand my network and horizons. I was reminded that these issues are common across all schools, students, communities and there are many experts out there with lots of research, data and solutions.
- The parent piece for me is still a tricky one. I would like more information, resources, etc on how to get parents “onside” in a conflict and build parent engagement around this topic.

Amy, I consistently prioritize relational teaching because I believe it’s the most effective way to cultivate an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and have the necessary support to learn from them. It’s a concept that’s always at the forefront of my thinking.
I highly recommend reading “Empty Your Backpack” by Sam Demma. This book offers valuable insights that I believe every student, parent, and teacher should explore. Sam Demma’s work is truly remarkable, and I encourage you to take a closer look at his impactful contributions to social emotional growth.
