After our discussions and reflections today at our third F2F, I have modified my “How Might We…” question to get a bit more specific, as my original idea was a bit too ambitious – it was almost trying to do a cultural overhaul. So, I have decided to narrow it down to one actionable task: “How Might We…use an alternative assessment method on one ICE unit summative to remove the focus on grades while still encouraging student engagement?”
By keeping it contained to one summative task to start, I can experiment and see how the assessment goes, then reflect and refine, before ultimately making more significant changes to my classroom, teaching team, and school.
