Hello, readers! I’m looking forward to Saturday’s next F2F (on my home turf, no less!) and thought I’d whip up a quick post as a snapshot of where my thinking is at going into Saturday’s event.
Question 1: Why did I join Cohort 21? What are my professional goals for this year?
I joined Cohort again this year because I really appreciated the community that formed last year, and I want to continue developing these professional bonds and relationships and seeking the wisdom and inspiration offered by my fellow Cohortians. I have some overall goals to become more of a leader within my school, and I think participating in Cohort in this capacity will help increase my confidence to take on more of an out-front, active role at school. More specifically, as I’ve mentioned in my other post, I also want to focus this year on feedback: both the timeliness and the clarity of it. I am hoping that I can find useful strategies from the Cohort community to help with this!
Question 2: Which of the strands resonates with you and why?
I think each one of the Cohort strands resonates with me in different ways. But, the one that will most align with my feedback goal seems to be Pedagogy, Belonging and Wellbeing, because my goal has to do with ensuring students are clearly understanding how to improve on their learning, and I think this will only increase their sense of satisfaction within our class community.
Okay! That’s it. A short & sweet snapshot of where I’m at, and where I hope to head. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Great snapshot, Ryan! Connecting with colleagues in Cohort 21 can only strengthen the networks we each create within education, and I’m looking forward to Saturday, too!
