‘Games in History’ Action Plan – What’s Next?

Mission-US

What are the next steps?

  1. Suggest History games to Zach (UTS history teacher) and give him time to explore them
  2. Meet with Zach to look at good fits between history games and history curriculum (e.g. grade? course? unit?) and decide on 1 (or 2-3?) games to focus on
  3. Create game-related activities for games (within SAMR framework)
  4. Play-test with students and make necessary changes to game-related activities
  5. Present to Cohort 21
  6. Present to UTS staff about the experience

When will I publish next?

  • Tentatively next publications will take place coinciding with steps 2-6 above.  Use feedback from Cohort 21 colleagues to move on to next steps and modify project.

How will I present my findings/exploration?

  • Bring Zach to session? (is that possible?)
  • Prezi?
  • Video? (short interviews with students about their experiences)

  1. Hi Mike,

Exciting stuff here. Which is why I have a few questions for you: (forgive my enthusiasm!):

I’d love to connect on this as well – what grade does your colleague teach? I’d love to be kept in touch on this, and maybe get a colleague at my school could give you some feedback too!

    Thanks,
    garth.

    1. Hi Garth,

my colleague (Zach) teaches Gr.7. We would love feedback from you or any of your colleagues. I will write a post soon containing possible games and potential curriculum links and perhaps you could share this with your colleague(s). WDYT?

      Mike
