Increasing Creativity by Reducing Chaos

  1. I think this was my favorite part:

“Leveraging social capital benefits my teaching.”

Yes, it does. Teaching is about relationships and I suspect that you are actually building social capital at the same time you feel you are leveraging it. GREAT action plan wrap up… and clear evidence that the end of C21 is just the beginning! I hope you keep blogging next year about your progress with implementing all these ideas, as I would love to keep hearing about them.

    1. Thanks Ruth! Your comments have been very helpful to me. I will indeed to keep blogging. I am not terribly prolific, but I do find benefit in the process. And you are absolutely correct, building social capital is really my passion.

    2. Hey Robin,
Nice wrap up! I really liked the community part – Teachers who care about teaching… so important to find your peeps as they will be your support if you start to doubt yourself! Don’t forget that you have allies online via #cohort21 as well – you are a Connected Educator!

Also, so important to listen to students! You took time to do which is so important because the more we know our students, the better we can continue to meet their evolving needs.

Love the Fresh Prince theme and it’s great to here that you’re going to keep blogging! See you Friday!

  2. @rmichel It certainly seems like your thinking has evolved greatly over the year. Your “working memory” focus is particularly interesting as you Art has unique challenges that no other subject faces. As you have outlined it is a work in progress and a constant cycle of pedagogical refinement. Test, reflect, learn, repeat. I look forward to learning on Friday.

  3. @rmichel Great review of your Cohort21 journey. Creative, funny, and relatable. Your ‘Next Steps’ slide is full of great ideas and foundations on which others can build. I love that you see the potential for school-wide change as a result of this process.

And, I echo Derek’s sentiment about community support. Remember that there is support 24/7 with #Cohort21. AND, you are a valued member of this online community with insights and experiences to share.
