The final face-to-face provided time for sharing of Action Plans and provided a venue for a year-in-review forum.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Cohort presented their projects in informal roundtable discussions, and provided links to their action plan steps and resources for those who wanted to dig a little deeper into the various topics.\u00a0\u00a0 Some highlight\u2019s include <a title=\"Celeste's Flipped Classroom Review\" href=\"http:\/\/cohort21.com\/ckirsh\/2013\/04\/14\/my-flipped-learning-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">A Beginner\u2019s Guide to Flipping your Classroom<\/a>, <a title=\"Voicethread in classroom\" href=\"http:\/\/usergeneratededucation.wordpress.com\/2011\/06\/13\/the-flipped-classroom-model-a-full-picture\/\" target=\"_blank\">Merits of VoiceThread in the Classroom<\/a>, and bigger picture explorations like how <a title=\"Adam Caplan's Powtoon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.powtoon.com\/embed\/b9qLXfPTLHX\/\" target=\"_blank\">technology can be leveraged<\/a> to meet strategic plan goals of a school.\u00a0 My Action Plan explored personalized learning in the English classroom and the student voice in curriculum design via Student Blogging.\u00a0\u00a0 This <a title=\"Fictional Educations Prezi\" href=\"http:\/\/prezi.com\/bgg1qgjbgdeu\/fictional-educations-literature-the-21st-century-syllabus\/?kw=view-bgg1qgjbgdeu&amp;rc=ref-39510641\" target=\"_blank\">Prezi <\/a>provides is a brief overview of the project.\u00a0 Please click <a title=\"Words Worth Their Weight\" href=\"https:\/\/cohort21.com\/shelleythomas\/2013\/04\/22\/words-worth-their-weight\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> for a deeper exploration and to access student blogs.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>My biggest takeaway from Cohort 21 this year, is the community that has been forged through collective research, sharing, and collaboration on projects.\u00a0 A professional learning network quickly emerged from our first face-to-face in October.\u00a0 Teachers from across the <a title=\"CIS Ontario\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cisontario.ca\" target=\"_blank\">CIS Ontario <\/a>community came together to share an authentic and diverse array of perspectives and expertise.\u00a0 Librarians, elementary French teachers, Upper School English teachers, and leaders in Instructional Technologies came to the table to explore and debate the future of education in Ontario in 21<sup>st<\/sup> century schools.<\/p>\n<p>By opening our doors and sharing what was happening in our classrooms, colleagues became valuable resources and allies.\u00a0 Their support was vital to our learning and professional growth.<\/p>\n<p>Cohort 21 was a tremendous opportunity and I recommend it to anyone who is looking to enhance their teaching and learning practices and who is willing to take risks in and outside of the classroom.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For more information on Cohort 21, please click <a title=\"Cohort 21\" href=\"http:\/\/cohort21.com\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first year of Cohort 21 officially came to a close April 27th at Royal St. George\u2019s College.
