Being part of Cohort21 has taught me that I \u00a0am more of reader of blogs than a writer of blogs.<\/p>\n
Firstly, Technology is helping Librarians to curate and share information with others 24\/7. \u00a0With Grades 3 -5 students currently being involved the OLA’s Silver Birch Reading programme. I have curated all of resources on the\u00a0York Junior School Library Online Catalogue Home page<\/a>. I am trying to create a ‘Flipped’ Library with having resources and information transparent and accessible. Also, maintaining and promoting\u00a0The York Digital Library<\/a>\u00a0allows the York community to read ebooks and audiobooks on laptops, tablets and smartphones anytime and anywhere with an internet connection.<\/p>\n Secondly, \u00a0I have spearheaded transferring the wiki to\u00a0CIS Librarians’ website<\/a>. It is a Google site and fairly easy to create pages and embed media. My favourite aspect is that a survey can be created and then the data can be embedded on a webpage. This will be a ‘work in progress’ as this site is a collaborative effort of librarians of varying tech abilities. \u00a0[Note to self — be prepared for someone to change the password of a group email and password! Luckily Google has embedded an email recovery system that made it easy to solve that problem!]<\/p>\n Lastly, \u00a0I haven’t forgot about the \u00a0Library YouTube Channel — an easier way to curate the best book trailers, author interviews and \u00a0videos of illustrators sketching. \u00a0[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CMgrIzZLhcM&feature=share&list=PLWQQFiiuxyjRQDbhy8rYltoOtNjnkC20F&index=6[\/youtube]<\/p>\n Oliver Jeffers is commentating and sketching ‘How to Draw a Moose’.
