It also too often\u00a0describes\u00a0my practice\u00a0in the\u00a0classroom.\u00a0I set in motion rich tasks and experiences that are\u00a0exciting and rewarding\u00a0for the students, but underpinned with a lack of planning that consistently doubles\u00a0or triples\u00a0my work. My default solution has always been\u00a0to work harder and generally this has served me well, but for how long?\u00a0Last\u00a0year I was trying to teach myself to work smarter;\u00a0there were small achievements but these did not exactly amount to\u00a0a paradigm shift.<\/p>\n<p>This year, I would like to be more elegant\u2013hilarious, if you know me at all. If you don&#8217;t, you just need to know that I teach Visual Art in middle and high school.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"hvr\">&#8220;To<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">me,<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">elegance<\/span> is <span class=\"hvr\">not<\/span> to <span class=\"hvr\">pass<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">unnoticed<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">but<\/span> to <span class=\"hvr\">get<\/span> to <span class=\"hvr\">the<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">very<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">soul<\/span> of <span class=\"hvr\">what<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">one<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">is.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">[Christian<\/span> <span class=\"hvr\">Lacroix]<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I would like the dots of my practice to be better\u00a0connected so the big picture is visible and accessible.
