I have practiced design process\u00a0for many years because I am a Designer. What I never fully\u00a0realized is that the associated thinking process had permeated my daily life\u00a0and\u00a0become integral to\u00a0who I am.\u00a0There were hints. In all sorts of situations, I like observing people and problems and teasing them apart in unexpected ways. Once in a while I am able to generate\u00a0a decent solution, or more likely, a road map to a\u00a0consensus to test a possible solution. In shifting my career to the teaching profession, I hoped that my design skills a would find a new home and purpose in Secondary Education.\u00a0\u00a0At some point, I have no idea when, the Lifeguard blew the whistle for \u201cFree Swim!\u201d and everyone jumped into the pool. Design Thinking has permeated Business and Education and in ways I\u00a0could not have imagined\u00a0years ago. So, I find myself swimming confident laps in the middle of what feels like a fast paced and lively game of water polo.\u00a0Shifting my game to benefit my community in Education will necessitate making my thinking more visible and taking a risk. Luckily for me, I love the pool.<\/p>\n
