Great reflection on students defining “grit”and the grade variance. Are the grade 11’s just more realistic with their self-analysis? Your conclusion is telling…how do we communicate the importance of ‘grit” in the learning spectrum?

How lucky are your students that you have taken the time to celebrate their individual strengths! Your objective of having all students reach a level and awareness of blended cognition is truly admirable. You have much to share with others who are also searching for that all-important connection with every student and their learning.

HI Jason,
How do we encourage students to look for the problems? My observation is that a few navigate seamlessly to this challenged approach; others not so much. Perhaps the development of the grit and tenacity you spoke of as important skills to develop will help in a large part to a more collective shift in focus.
