<p>I think chunking it down into a half-day session before each unit might allow you to see how effective the &#8216;refresh&#8217; is.</p>

One thing I find I struggle with is getting students motivated, in say Calculus, when the real transfer of their skills to problems doesn&#8217;t occur for another few years in university..
