I have been teaching Science and Chemistry for almost 20 years.  I have taught Grade 9/10 Science and Grade 11 / 12 Biology before but now I mostly teach Grade 11/12 Chemistry.

I try my best to teach my courses following the scientific method approach.  Most experiments I do with my students are at the start of the unit so that they can go through the discovery process and learn by observation.  I prefer this approach to the old school approach of being told scientific information and confirming that information using experiments at the end of the unit.

I also believe that students should be coached to use their scientific knowledge and skills to tackle real world problems.
