A rainy, damp, November day\u00a0was brightened by the conversations that were buzzing around the room. The energy of 45+ CIS Ontario educators was at an all time high (the coffee and cookies\u00a0definitely helped).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>CHAPTER ONE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>No need to think outside of the box, simply realize there is no box\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cohort21.com\/kristensolowey\/files\/2015\/11\/images.jpg\" alt=\"images\" width=\"299\" height=\"168\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The Second F2F Session\u00a0changed my approach when looking at challenges\/problems in my classroom\u2026thank you Design Thinking!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Before attending the session, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do for my Action Plan (How to use\u00a0Inquiry Based Learning in the Kindergarten classroom). It was my hope that I would leave the second session with a clear picture of what I was going to do and how it would play out. However, at the end of the day I left\u00a0wanting to explore issues that I didn\u2019t know I felt passionate about\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">MakerSpace, Tinkering, Genius Hour Student-Led Conferencing are a few of the topics that I was made aware of. (Thank you <a class='bp-suggestions-mention' href='https:\/\/cohort21.com\/members\/timrollwagen\/' rel='nofollow'>@timrollwagen<\/a> <a class='bp-suggestions-mention' href='https:\/\/cohort21.com\/members\/gnichols\/' rel='nofollow'>@gnichols<\/a> and <a class='bp-suggestions-mention' href='https:\/\/cohort21.com\/members\/crussell\/' rel='nofollow'>@crussell<\/a> for the great suggestions!)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Taking part in the Design Thinking Process was the spark that I needed to allow me to realize that there were many roads I could take to get me where I wanted to be. It allowed me to see that there isn\u2019t one answer\/solution to the problems\/challenges that we face in our classrooms, but rather there are many ways to approach the situation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>CHAPTER TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step\u2026 <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Self Assessment: How am I doing?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cohort21.com\/kristensolowey\/files\/2015\/11\/CRhyiHHUEAIxiiq.jpg-large.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-46\" src=\"https:\/\/cohort21.com\/kristensolowey\/files\/2015\/11\/CRhyiHHUEAIxiiq.jpg-large-300x203.jpeg\" alt=\"CRhyiHHUEAIxiiq.jpg-large\" width=\"188\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cohort21.com\/kristensolowey\/files\/2015\/11\/CRhyiHHUEAIxiiq.jpg-large-300x203.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/cohort21.com\/kristensolowey\/files\/2015\/11\/CRhyiHHUEAIxiiq.jpg-large.jpeg 712w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 960px) 75vw, 100vw\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">In order to grow, we need to be honest with ourselves and avoid comparisons. Taking time to assess ones\u00a0progress is a step forward\u00a0as it helps you realize what you are doing well and what areas you need to work on.\u00a0 A big piece of the Cohort is utilizing the tools and resources that we were introduced to (Google Hangouts, Twitter, Diigo and WordPress). Taking a moment to reflect on my\u00a0comfort level and how much I had\u00a0used the tools was helpful as it gave me time to reflect and plan for the future. Writing down goals and deadlines is an awesome way to hold yourself accountable.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5\">A big shout out to <a class='bp-suggestions-mention' href='https:\/\/cohort21.com\/members\/shelleythomas\/' rel='nofollow'>@shelleythomas<\/a> for the badges. Who doesn\u2019t love a visual reward?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>CONCLUSION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Where do I go from here? What are my next steps?<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I left the second F2F feeling confident in the day. I learned new things, met knew people and grew as a professional. I left feeling satisfied.
