<\/a><\/p>\nIt became clear to me that I am focused on the social aspect of learning when implementing technology in my classes. Padlet, glogster, google sites, google docs, s<\/span>ocrative, Diigo, e-pals and Voicethread have all contributed to the enhancement of my students’ learning in French, through collaboration with others. But among these examples I don’t believe I’ve found the best tool to accomplish my goal of increasing oral fluency among my students.\u00a0<\/span> Enter google hangouts. When I began participating in hangouts this year through Cohort 21, I immediately saw a link between this technology and the possibility for students to use it to practice their oral speaking anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. I feel like I am on the verge of a redesign of how my students learn French with the help of this tool. With the help of Cohort 21 and the Action Plan process, the way I roll out the implementation of this tool may determine its capacity to align with multiple aspects of 21st century learning.<\/p>\n The first thing I’d like to do before embarking on this path is to host a google hangout to experience firsthand what I’d potentially be expecting my students to do down the road. Thus far, I’ve participated in hangouts hosted by Garth and Justin, but I need to venture into the driver’s seat and get some practice.<\/p>\n Is there any interest out there to discuss what you’ve been considering in terms of your action plan? Or perhaps the SAMR model in more detail?
