So glad I’ll be rejoining the #Cohort21Party tomorrow at the 2nd F2F for the 2017-18 season!\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

But, what does it mean to be ‘still going’ to the party?<\/h3>\n

I’ve selected that title for my blog because it’s kind of my new motto<\/em><\/strong>… sometimes I get pretty stuck when it comes to blogging, but I love reading other teacher’s posts on our site, not to mention the posts and articles that abound on the Twittersphere!<\/p>\n

So, I figure if I’m still going, it means I can’t just ignore it – I should comment on a comrade’s post; perhaps write one of my own.<\/strong> And I felt a wonderfully warm push<\/em> when I read what @ibrown<\/a>\u00a0wrote about small change innovation<\/a> in our practice. In her post, she asks us to engage and share our #cohort21 ‘small changes’. This is mine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now to be clear, I’m not supporting generally poor time management (albeit, something I’ve struggled with for years), nor suggesting that waiting until the night before the next F2F is ideal, rather I hope to encourage those of us in both the Cohort community (old and new alike) and beyond to consider the benefit<\/em> of the ‘still going’ mindset<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This mindset, a type of growth mindset of course, means that we should probably heed the advice presented by @aleacock<\/a> in her most recent post<\/a> <\/strong>where she concludes that\u00a0“more of us need to care and make time to try new things, reflect on what we are doing each day, and step outside our comfort zone as a community of teachers.”\u00a0<\/strong>We might not be comfortable where we end up if we take these steps, but even if we are just barely ‘still going’, it is still movement. And movement is what makes change possible.<\/p>\n

Oh, and the ‘party’<\/strong> in this motto of mine, well it really represents the education-revolution<\/strong> that we are thrown into when we join Cohort 21, and it’s still hopping! We just have to get there<\/em><\/strong>, because we know it’s going to be a complete blast each and every time we’re there!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
