Collecting Student data/ reflections that are meaningful and promote metacognitive thinking among your students is my focus. As a Leadership teacher working in a Pass/Fail course my biggest hurdle is getting the boys to reflect on their feelings/experiences to promote growth. These sticky notes have jump-started the action plan on what tools are best for the Middle School environment. Im narrowing my focus in the next session to incorporate space for this style of thought into each lesson.
Do I set the tone of every lesson with a question they should be thinking about throughout? Do you provide a space for them to write, and record their reflections? The third session is a space I am hoping to answer these questions.
