Grading is tough and so important. It will leave a mark on that student. It will define who they are in their identity as a student.<\/p>\n Do we tell the 18 month old who is still a bit wobbly when walking that they are a \u201cC\u201d at walking? Would that be helpful?<\/p>\n The best part of being a teacher and parent, is it makes you reflective and empathetic.<\/p>\n So I paused.<\/p>\n Wait a minute. Do my students feel this way? Do the parents of my students feel this way?<\/p>\n Are my students aware of how to be successful? Am I supporting them? Are my \u201cnext steps useful?<\/p>\n So \u2013 I am on a quest to improve how I grade, how I report and how I share this information. Is my grading\u00a0accurate, consistent, meaningful and supportive of learning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I purchased the book A Repair Kit For Grading<\/u>\u00a0by Ken O\u2019Connor \u2013 thanks for the suggestion @tjagdeo<\/a><\/span>.
