For the rest of the weekend, my brain\u00a0was abuzz with potential\u00a0action plan\u00a0prototypes (<em>thanks to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lesmcbeth\">@lesmcbeth<\/a>&#8216;s wicked discussion on design thinking<\/em>). Finally, I have arrived at defined action plan, as well as an action plan for my action plan, which I am eager to dive in to!<\/p>\n<p>Drum roll, please&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Toolkit for Flourishing\u00a0(a.k.a. An inquiry into how schools can create a culture that promotes flourishing.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>*Thanks to<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Think_teach\"><em>@Think_teach<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>for the catchy title!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Phase 1 (February): Research\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What exactly is positive education?<\/li>\n<li>What is flourishing? How can it be achieved?<\/li>\n<li>What schools\/teachers are already practicing positive education? Any case studies?<\/li>\n<li>Is flourishing measurable?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 2 (March): Develop Toolkit\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop &#8220;A Toolkit for Flourishing&#8221; based on research findings. This may include energizers, exercises, articles, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Include a tool that can be used to assess flourishing (if possible)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 3 (April): Implementation\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduce the toolkit to the Intermediate Division and\/or The Learning Centre at Ridley College; encourage faculty and students to make use of the tools<\/li>\n<li>Look for meaningful places in our schedule in which these tools can be used and discussed, and\/or integrate them into everyday practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Phase 4 (May\/June): Assess Efficacy\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After several weeks of utilizing the toolkit, conduct an assessment in an attempt to measure if flourishing has increased amongst students and faculty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I will aim to publish blog posts at the end of each month, to summarize my findings and\/or observations from each phase of the action plan, and to receive feedback.
