Big Data in YOUR Classroom: Introduction to Practical Computation
\nWe are looking for teachers from any discipline<\/p>\n
There is no previous knowledge required<\/p>\n
Do you want to learn to use Big Data to enhance your teaching?
\nOr, better yet, do you want to be able to teach your students to manage this valuable resource themselves?<\/p>\n
If so, consider joining the “Big Data in YOUR Classroom” group. You will:<\/p>\n
\u2022 learn in a small group with experts in the field from SciNet at University of Toronto<\/p>\n
\u2022 learn how to develop materials you can use in your practice to connect the curriculum to practical problems and their solutions<\/p>\n
\u2022 meet other teachers from a variety of disciplines who are interested in the ART and science of making sense of data<\/p>\n
If you teach sciences, economics, math, statistics, geography,computer science or any other subject and have a desire to learn about this exciting field of inquiry:<\/p>\n
Meetings will take place on the second Thursday of each month, starting in October, at 4:30pm. The location for the meetings will be University of Toronto Schools, 371 Bloor St W.<\/p>\n
There is no fee for participation, other than enthusiasm for the topic.<\/p>\n
